Hey team, I’m Heathar, Sicilian on my mother’s side and rural farmer on my father’s side. I grew up in a home that valued delicious, farm-fresh food and traditional ways of eating and living.
Today, I live on a farm in the hills of northern New Mexico with my wife, our dairy cows, and umpteen other farm animals.
For me, life centers around a few main things: growing incredible farm fresh food, sharing that food with the people I love, and preserving old-school food traditions.
As a kid, I grew up in a household that valued farm-to-table food before it was even a trendy experience. My dad hunted wild game and hung their carcasses - a technique that naturally preserves and ages meat - from a maple tree in our front yard. Every night my mom had a traditional Italian-inspired dinner piping hot and waiting for us when my siblings and I got home from a long day of school and sports. My family ate scratch food before the word scratch became a trend-setting minimalist goal.
Today, I take pride in the food traditions I inherited growing up in a food-centered family. Today, I’m passionate about sharing my traditions, heritage recipes, and grain-free food adventures with you.
To taste some of the most delicious food on this planet - teeming with tradition, taste, nourishment, and rich history - join me for a farm brunch or farm dinner, subscribe to my Eat Heal Farm substack page, or cook with me in the kitchen when you join my Get Nourished cooking course.
From my kitchen to yours, buon appetito,
Heathar
